The stories according to role

January 28, 2012

A team using iceScrum can be very flexible in its use of  stories. The tool allows freedom of expression while still providing guidance according to the chosen practices.

Roles and stories

POs, SMs, DEVs and even SHs can all propose stories to go into the sandbox.

The person to propose a story becomes its creator and has special rights for this story. While the story is in the sandbox, the creator can:

  • Modify it, possibly attach one or more files to it

  • Delete it

A PO has the same rights, for all stories.

Additionally, like the PO, the story creator automatically becomes a subscriber: if the story changes or is commented, he or she is sent a message (providing the email service has been setup).

The PO has further possibilities, he can also:

  • Accept a story

  • Associate the story with a feature (with a drag and drop)

The following can be performed by everybody:

  • Go to the detailed view, become a subscriber (or cancel a subscription)

  • Enlarge the post-it to get more information (quicklook with a double click)

  • Add a comment

  • Add acceptance tests

  • Make a copy

The PO can perform copy, delete and accept commands on multiple selections.

Most commands have a keyboard shortcut (see on-line help).
