    Hi,

I have deployed icescrub war in tomcat server on a ubuntu OS.

However it doesn’t start in tomcat. It says:

FAIL – Application at context path /agilefant could not be started.

I am new to tomcat server so I am not sure how to get to bottom of this. I already tried searching in google but couldn’t find anything to fix this issue.

    could someone please help.

    Hello,

It seems that it’s a competitor that didn’t start actually 😉

    Do you more detail?

    Hi,

Thanks for your response. I am so sorry for the mistake. The the actual error reads like this

FAIL – Application at context path /icescrum could not be started

Honestly speaking, I have been trying to setup up both to evaluate, however no success so far.

In terms of more information, which logs would you want me to share?

Without any more detail. It difficult to help you…

BUT there is another solution, try our jar which embed Tomcat and configure everything for you 🙂

    More information here: https://www.icescrum.com/documentation/install-guide/#start

Another insight: iceScrum doesn’t work with Tomcat 8 / java 8 (will be compatible soon)

Vincent, I understood IceScrum 6 does not work with Tomcat 8, but had no problem with Java 8. Please, as per your last comment, can I infer IceScrum does not allow Java 8 even under Tomcat 7? (This might be the misterious cause to my failure in setup WAR so far.)

    Thanks and best regards,

    Fábio

    Ok, got it:

Here https://www.icescrum.com/documentation/install-guide/ it is said no Java 8, although here https://www.icescrum.com/documentation/application-server/ says only no Tomcat 8. I mistook Tomcat 7 allowed for Tomcat 7 and any Java allowed, since Tomcat 7 does support Java 8 (here: http://tomcat.apache.org/whichversion.html it says Tomcat 7 supports Java 7 and up.)

If you don’t mind telling me if I got it right or not, please do and set my troubled mind free. 🙂

    Best regards,

    Fábio

If you install it on Tomcat 7, iceScrum also requires Java 6 or 7.

The install documentation used to be one document but it has been split into two and the information has not been duplicated. It is now duplicated to avoid any confusion: https://www.icescrum.com/documentation/application-server/
